Ottmar Hörl has re-designed Suite 212 at Arte Luise Kunsthotel in Berlin, turning it into a 19th-century-style picture gallery. The exhibits are taken from his "Bildstörungen" [Picture Interferences] series, where he adds artistic comments to original-size reproductions from catalogues.
An overnight stay in this suite thus becomes an invitation to get immersed in the familiar and well-known paintings without any hurry and discover all about them. Is there anything about them that you find annoying, that seems like an interference to you?
On show at Suite 212:
"Madonna of Chancellor Nicholas Rolin" by Jan Van Eyck
"Italia and Germania" by Friedrich Overbeck
"Chalk Cliffs on Rügen" (1818) by Caspar David Friedrich
"The Skating Minister" by Henri-Pierre Danloux
EXHIBITION "ROT SEHEN" ("SEEING RED")
Gallery Netuschil
Schleiermacherstraße 8
